DAY 1 – ARRIVAL
At the heart of Cap Town’s Waterfront you will be welcomed in a hotel 5* with a breath-taking view of the Table Mountain. This incredible place is known to be one of the ten best hotel in the world.
At the end of the afternoon you will begin with an introduction to the Cape’s wines in the form of a short casual tasting, followed by canapes and Methodes Cap Classique aperitif.
DAY 2 – CONSTANTIA WINE REGION
In Constantia resides the soul of the South African wine industry, where you will discover cool climate wines of Klein Constantia before making your way to Buitenverwachting for both a tasting of their highly awarded wines, followed by lunch in their outstanding restaurant.
Mid to late afternoon, you will have free time to relax at your hotel or discover the Waterfront. You will enjoy an evening dinner at a swanky and delicious restaurant.
DAY 3 – HELDERBERG WINE REGION
The first visit of the day will be to Meerlust where for over 300 years the Myburgh family have been welcoming artists, poets, MP’s and Generals to dine at their table. You will enjoy an in depth tasting of older vintages of these classicaly styled wines. You then head off to Morgenster wine farm who’s highly acclaimed wines boast the Consultant advice of Bordeaux’s Pierre Lurton. This will be accompanied by an olive and olive oil tasting – some of the best in the Cape. You will then lunch at Vergelegen, in this outstanding Valley. We return to Cape Town in time to relax and freshen up before a fine fish dinner in the Waterfront.
DAY 4 – STELLENBOSCH (SOUTH) WINE REGION
In Rustenberg you shall be greeted by one of the Barlow family for a tasting of their flagship wines beneath the old oak trees. You will then go to another big name in Cape wine, Rust en Vrede, owned by the Engelbrecht family since the 1970’s. Following a line up of some of the best reds in the country you shall make your way high up onto the Helderberg mountain for lunch. After checking into an hotel in Stellenbosch and taking a refreshing swim or a spa treatment, another truly fine experience is expecting you for dinner!
DAY 5 – STELLENBOSCH (NORTH) WINE REGION
Sit back and watch the vines rustle in the breeze as you take a vineyard tour by tractor on Hartenberg farm, owned by the Mackenzie family, and famous for their Shiraz, Chardonnay and Bordeaux blends. This trip is guided by their viticulturist and each white wine is tasted in their respective vineyard block, before heading to the cellar to taste the range of reds. Lunch will be an al fresco affair under the willows enjoying a rather special picnic assortment of delicacies. Early in the afternoon , you will return to your hotel for a snooze and a relaxing time by the pool before preparing for the dinner in a restaurant with a spectacular sight high on the Helshoogte Pass.
DAY 6 – FRANSCHHOEK WINE REGION
Famous for its cuisine and French Huguenot heritage, the valley of Franschhoek is home to over 40 wine farms, a clutch of world renown restaurants and a plethora of boutiques and galleries. After an hour meander up the main high street you shall head for the boutique cellar of Chamonix Wine farm, most well known for their Chardonnay’s And Pinot Noirs Made by Gottfried Mocke. After this, you will go to Anthonij Rupert’s Jewel of L’Ormarins Wine farm, for a tasting of their iconic range before heading to the state of the art winery, boutique hotel and restaurant of Delaire Graff, owned by diamond specialist Laurence Graff. You will set on the terrace high above the Banghoek Valley another fabulous meal is enjoyed, paired with Delaire Graff wines. The final evening dinner will be held in a restaurant on the side of the Schaapenberg mountain.
DAY 7 – LAST DAY
Following breakfast, check out of the hotel at around 11h00. A Taxi will transfer you to Cape Town International Airport.
